When the splendorous weaves of India come together for a show, the effect has to be just magical. The “Rajwadi” collection from ‘Tatwamm’ by Abhishek and Vinita was a symphony of weaves at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week. The show was a fashionable glorious ode to the amazing and exquisite weaves of India that brought the country’s textile wealth to centre stage.
Hina Khan was the perfect showstopper as she created an impact and sashayed in, wearing the stunning silk, velvet lehenga, ornamented intricately with prancing horses that added to the regal feel of the ensemble.
She styled the look with a bright blue bandhani dupatta and golden zari work! She kept her Makeup dewy and bold with kohled eyes. She kept her jewelry simple with a small nose ring. Her hair in waves cascading down her shoulders and she looked regal and how in the outfit!
From Kanchipuram to Pochampali, the exotic textiles were merged with the intricate Bandhani from Bhuj and then dappled with glittering zardosi embroidery created in rural Bengal. Inspired by the regal peacocks and grand elephants who wander in the palaces of Rajasthan during days gone by, Abhishek and Vinita used these as motifs to dream up luxurious heirlooms of timeless beauty.
It was a fantasy of saris in myriad weaves, prints, colours and embellished with exotic zari work, all worn with the most traditional but stylish cholis. The colour palette vied with the rainbow for attention, as hues of all shades and tones appeared on the textiles.
The “Rajwadi” collection from the ‘Tatwamm’ label by Abhishek and Vinita will surely turn the discerning buyers into contemporary royal millennials during the coming season.
